Summer Essentials- What I keep in my beach bag that I can’t live without…

Ya’ll me and the husband are kid FREE in Florida this week it’s been so long I’m not sure I know how to act. I’m here for the sunshine and as much beach time as possible. Take a look what’s in my bag for a full fun day so I don’t have to go back and forth to the resort. All I need is my bag and okay maybe the…. Tiki bar!

Whether you like to lug around your summer must-haves and beach basics, a properly stocked beach tote is essential in promising you’ll have a fabulous beach escape.  

These are my beach bag must-haves:

1. Bottled Iced Coffee I’m a caffeine junkie I admit it!
2. Every beach bag needs a towel mine happens to be super cute and monogrammed (Hey I’m from GA we monogram everything!)
3. An assortment of reading materials is defiantly a MUST. Hello relaxation.
4. Sunglasses not only protect my eyes from the bright rays, but the perfect shades add a flair of style at the beach.
5. Suave Body wash is ALWAYS in my bag in case I use the outdoor shower at the resort… I’m good to go and my favorite scent refreshes me perfectly!

Pull together these beach bag essentials and tuck them in a cute tote and you are ready for the beach.

What items to do you toss in your bag for a full fun day in the sun on the sand!! I’m a gypsy beach girl at heart and when I go to the beach I’m there to stay on the sand!!

First, let me start with: I am a happy mama and I am more than excited to spend every day of my life with my 2 little munchkins.

However, in order to get up in the morning and look forward to every day, let’s admit, no matter how perfect  and well-behaved your kids are, you need those few moments to yourself. And to me, mostly not because I got tired of being a mom, but because as a human being you need to respond to your own needs of being alone and doing things that are only for you.

When I get up in the morning, the darkness always calms me. It’s like a little reward for getting up early. I almost even feel sneaky.

My real reward, though, is the quiet. Time alone. Time to think. Time to hear my own thoughts, even if it’s for 30 min.

For the past few months, I’ve tinkered with the idea of getting up early. It felt impossible.

But now that I have I can’t imagine not being about to get that quite time in.

This is HUGE for me. Since I’m not a morning person, it’s easy for me to roll over & grab my phone so I can scroll mindlessly through email and social media while I wake up. This starts me off on the wrong foot for so many reasons.

When I make the choice to scroll mindlessly through my phone or any other social media network, I allow others to affect my own energy and mood before my day has even started.

Coffee is what I look forward to in the morning; Buy your favorite brand/blend and really savor it. I also love to purchase unique coffee mugs for my coffee which makes me happy. It’s just one more thing that makes my mornings feel more special.

Joy is truly in the small details!

Even if I read a few pages of a awesome inspiring book it gets my blood going in the AM. My 100% go to book right now is: It’s Called the fire starter sessions and it is dead on EVERY single time! Makes you feel like wonder woman and super mom all in one! It’s the honest truth I need! This book has the title it does for a very good reason!

The last thing I like to do is some yoga or simple stretching. There are a ton of great videos on YouTube to follow along with. I usually choose a few and do them a week @ at time.

And that’s my morning self-care routine! It takes less than an hour, and some days the kid’s interrupt m  but I still get recharged & get’s me going for the rest of the day!!

Woah !! It’s already December what ?! I mean at this point my goals should be bring the elf back and making sure the Christmas tree is up before Christmas day right ?

December is always hectic for me so this month I have set some easy pretty attainable goals… Do y’all have monthly goals ? If so what are they ?

#1. Stop taking all the little things for granted. Chessy & typical right ? No I’m serious my kids are healthy, my husband does way more than his fair share he is the glue, I’m very close to my mom, dad & sisters !! Those 3 things right there are RARE and I do take it lightly some days that I’m that lucky.

#2. When I’m @ work produce amazing work and stay focused and be happy to be there.

#3. Write a letter to my mom and dad just telling them how amzing they are !!

#4. Watch tons of Christmas movies & eat so many cookies that I get sick.

#5. Last month one of my goals was to have no wine or any alcohol. I did it yay !!! I honestly thought it would be way harder ! That brings me to…..

#6. No wine or alcohol in December at all !!! My coffee intake may quadruple but that’s okay !! Here’s to hangover free mornings !!!

#7. And I saved the worst for last I really really must organize and clean all the closets out and rid myself of the 900 million pieces of clothing me and my kids have !!

No goals in December that’s okay ! After all it’s the hoildays !! Best time of the year for us and definitely my little humans.

Mine seem fairly easy and attainable I’m excited about the possibility… And will definitely update you on how I did when January rolls around.

Did something new on family vacation this year !! We took a boat shuttle to Shell Island located in Panama City Beach, FL.

center;”>It’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike, Shell Island is an approximately 7-mile long undeveloped barrier island running east to west between the Gulf of Mexico and the St. Andrew Bay. Here you’ll find Florida at its most natural, where graceful sand dunes, coastal scrub forest, pine hammocks, and an inland lake provide the perfect home for deer, nesting shorebirds, and all manner of coastal creatures.

It was something fun and different for me and the water was so clear it was amazing !!! But i am going to give you a few tips if you ever decided to go as well.

– No Restrooms.

– No trash cans.

– There is a boat there that’s docked selling snacks and hot dogs but I promise that’s ALL. But I think that’s one thing that makes it even better.

– If you take small kids with you it’s tough but worth just be prepared to walk walk and walk until you get where you want to set up for the day.

– We took lot’s of stuff with us cause we were told many many times take what ever you think you may want there is nothing. So we were killing our self cause we didn’t have a rolling cart thing to carry everything !! I’m telling you if your taking chairs, cooler, life jackets, play stuff and etc… get a rolling cart to haul it on your life will be so much easier.

– My husband caught some awesome huge crabs that were very close to the rocks.

– We took our snorkel gear so we could see all the fish up close it was so cool and not scary at all.

– Very fun to watch the boats come and go.

– I consider it very kid friendly.

– The beach the week we went was PACKED ! so it was a nice change and not so many people.

– You normally get dropped off on the bay side and have to walk to gulf side. When we go again i will pick a shuttle that drops on gulf side if possible.

– We did not collect many shells there are so many people going for that one reason they were picked over.

– It did feel kind of magical I would definitely go again.

We took the shuttle from St. Andrews State Park it was very easy to get in and out and they had the cheapest rates that i found. They had a shuttle that left every 30 min. We stayed almost for 4 hours and felt like we could have stayed longer. We didn’t get bored there were ton’s of things to keep you busy.

So glad i finally did something a bit different. My husband had been before but a 1st for me and i was impressed. None of the pictures I share here with you are filtered or changed @ all.
