If you’re going to have a motto might as well be a good positive one right? I’m all about and super happy for the mamas that can juggle it all and look so put together while mastering it. But let’s just say I’m not that mom, wife, friend or daughter…. I mean I try but I’m more of a hot mess gypsy soul type.

I have 2 kiddos and they are my world but do they still make me insane some days? yes yes they do….

I had a fun little photo shoot in mind for my daughter made a cute shirt “Pick flowers, not fights” paired it with more cuteness and hit up the local greenhouse. In my town everyone knows everyone and the owner didn’t mind a bit. He actually left me a key for after-hours.

Little did I know after our fun shoot that I would keep going back to that saying over and over! it’s so true I mean think about it at any given time picking flowers would be SO MUCH better than fighting!!

So…. I now have one of these pictures as my screen saver and try to remember to lighten up, pick my battles and think so what if the husband wants to go hunting 3 days a week, sometimes a cookie before supper is OK!, Yes, go play in the rain and love every minute I will clean up the grassy muddy mess you track in….it’s all good.

We are healthy, happy and about 60% of the time not super dysfunctional. I make my kids mind we have a routine but life is too short to be so uptight!

Do you have a motto or saying that kind of makes you stop and think hey woman chill out!? Tell me what they are they might help me too! so far this has been by far my fave!!

We live in north GA and got some pretty bad after effects of IRMA and we didn’t have power for 4 days so you can only imagine how many flowers I was actually picking in my head.

Summer Essentials- What I keep in my beach bag that I can’t live without…

Ya’ll me and the husband are kid FREE in Florida this week it’s been so long I’m not sure I know how to act. I’m here for the sunshine and as much beach time as possible. I live in Georgia most of y’all know that by now. This summer was HOT !!!! I mean like burn your feet when your barefooted and walk just to the car. And here in the country we stay barefooted.

I am a true sun god and love summers but when its so pretty outside I feel like I want to be laying out in the sun, having fun & definitely not sitting @ my desk at work.

But oh fall is my baby !! Yep I love it all everything about it. It seems like the air is fresh, I feel better and the kids enjoy every second of being outside when it’s cooler temps out.

Something about boots, a cute scarf and coming home to cinnamon smells (glade plug in). It’s just amazing.

For the past three days its been storming & raining so it cooled off a good bit and at night it almost felt like fall !! I got all excited.

To me fall is major fun close family time. So many neat and fun thing to-do even for little ones. Hayrides, corn maze, bonfires, etc… It’s fun and everyone connects.

What’s yall’s favorite season ? And Why ?

I live in Georgia in a tiny town. That’s full of old people and church goers. I love it here. But is there judgement & racism of course.

When I was younger I was in a very long relationship with a black man which resulted in my amazing daughter that’s absolutely changed my life around.

Now the issues me and him had are whole different story that your more than welcome to read about in one of my previous post.

I’m currently happily married (to a white man). And also have a little boy by him.

My daughter & son in their hearts have the same dad. She has no relations with her biological father.

Now what does this post have to-do with “Raising a brown child”? Lately all I see in the news and on social media is race debates. After everything that happened in Charleston it seems like everyone became more intense. Yes that boy deserves the death penalty for what he did anyone any color would deserve that. And yes I realize it was race motivated.

But do black people not realize they are just as racist as all these white people that hate people of different color? It’s blowing my mind of all the hate and comments I see that they think is “OK” but for an example the Confederate flag is not ?

My child is brown why would I ever be offended of people referred to her as such ? Why be defined and so consumed with a color that it completely rules your mind and soul ?

Yes racism is alive and well but no matter what you can’t always change what people were taught at a very young age. Does that make it right or okay? No but it’s never going to be totally gone.

Right now in my home town if we went out and talked to white and black people I promise you I could take you to just as many black people that don’t like whites and vise versa. Again does that make it right? No.

I refuse !!!! For my daughter to grow up focused on her race and what offends her ! Fight for what don’t offended you is what I hope for her. Work harder, learn better, pray daily, and live a full life. And realize everyone does not have to like everybody!

Everyday I see a new law suit of someone because they are offended. Latest one was Victoria’s Secrets “nude” under garments are for white people only.  So they were gonna boycott them not just move two rows of panties down and grab a brown pair. That were also in the “nude” section ??

Just like everyone has an opinion and this is mine. I will receive back lash and bad comments for this post and I’m okay with that. But in reality there is so many thing whites could be “offended” about as well:

BET Television
Tyler Perry & who he chooses to hire.
“Cracker” is not a bad word.
Certain collages are still considered only “black”.
Rappers can say it but no one else.
White girls take ” their ” men.
There has been tons of black shooters as well.

And the list could go on for days on both sides of any race.

Example:
This was on social media today as “news” now granted this woman is crazy but obviously she has major mental issues and needs professional help but it sparked the comments you will see below.

Now is that not also very racist?

I know there is idiots on each side but it just hurts my heart there is so much hate. No matter what to load a gun and kill innocent people of course your full of hate but there is also something very wrong mentally. It takes more than just being racist than to load a gun and kill God’s people.

I guess I’m just so torn cause of course I see both sides but it’s also time to grow up and say so what and love who you are on the inside. And that’s what I hope for my “brown” child. When and if she feels offended that it just doesn’t bother her at all !!! Is that so bad ???

Now it seems like everything is only black or white why can’t we see things for what it really is and be logical. Even though I have see tons of people of both race being very amazing and supportive to each other. Lately it just seems more of the other !

When people look at me funny white or black when me and my daughter are out to eat I don’t get offended ever. Maybe I’m alone in thinking this way.

Just hoping more people wake up. In the mean time I will be loving every minute raising my brown child. That made me such a better person.

Marriage can be amazing and very stressful! Just like people with no kids have all the answers for people with kids. People that are not married think its so easy and everything is black or white and set in stone.
Sorry sweetie I’m pretty sure that’s why you not married or have never been !

I have only been married about four years which is nothing im ready for 40 more !!

We have two kids and we all know what that can cause, stress, tiredness and zero sex and a tedious routine that you forget your even married. The lack of sex can be what really brings the ‘spice’ of the relationship down a peg or two. However, some couples revert to viewing certain adult entertainment in order to try and cook up some more fire in the bedroom. I’m only thirtyish and thats young yall !!! So do something sassy and frisky ! It’s fun and most importantly exciting. No man wants sex on a schedule at a certain time and one way and only in the bed nope not even the southern Baptist preachers in my small town. So stop the BORING!

I will always fight for i love and that includes my marriage you cant let people or other family members on either side get involved or put down your spouse! It’s 100% disrespectful and hurtful and toxic so make them irrelevant like turning off the TV.
