<p style="text-align: center;">Even if you’re a new blogger, a media kit is important to have. Follow this simple tutorial and you’ll have a polished media kit in no time!<br>
<span id="more-3126"></span></p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins2.jpg" rel="attachment wp-att-3127"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3127" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins2.jpg" alt="How to Make a Media Kit Using PicMonkey" width="876" height="308" loading="lazy" srcset="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins2.jpg 876w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins2-300x105.jpg 300w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins2-768x270.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 876px) 100vw, 876px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">First, log into PicMonkey. Choose “design”, then “8×10”. You can make your media kit a different size, but for the purposes of this tutorial we will use an 8×10. This makes it easier to print, too.</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3.jpg" rel="attachment wp-att-3129"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3129" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3.jpg" alt="How to Make a Media Kit Using PicMonkey" width="1460" height="775" loading="lazy" srcset="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3.jpg 1460w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3-300x159.jpg 300w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3-768x408.jpg 768w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins3-1024x544.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1460px) 100vw, 1460px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For the top of my media kit, I just used my header. I think it’s the perfect way to keep your brand identity across all platforms and designs. If you don’t have a header file saved, just go to your blog and save it that way. Screenshot if you have to.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Click the <em>butterfly</em>, then <em>“your own”</em>. Add the header file. Resize as needed.</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-5.07.06-PM.png" rel="attachment wp-att-3130"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3130" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-5.07.06-PM.png" alt="How to Make a Media Kit" width="749" height="279" loading="lazy" srcset="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-5.07.06-PM.png 749w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-5.07.06-PM-300x112.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">After you’ve added your header, click the button that is highlighted in the image above, to combine all image elements. This ensures your header stays put while you’re working on everything else. This can’t really be undone, so make sure it’s where you want it before combining.</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins4.jpg" rel="attachment wp-att-3131"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3131" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins4.jpg" alt="How to Make a Media Kit" width="672" height="532" loading="lazy" srcset="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins4.jpg 672w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins4-300x238.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Think about what you want to include in your media kit. What message are you trying to get across? What do you want brands to know about you?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For the purposes of this tutorial, I only added social media numbers. Because my numbers are still considered somewhat “small” in the blogging industry, I combined them. This tells the brands that my combined reach is over 20,000. That sounds so much better than telling a brand you only have 300 Facebook followers. While numbers aren’t the only thing that matter, some brands do require a minimum number of social media followers or pageviews each month.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">If you have anything else you’d like to “show off”, don’t leave it out! Have you worked with a big brand, like Tide? Add that! Do you have a high percentage of local visitors? That’s important, too!</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5.jpg" rel="attachment wp-att-3134"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3134" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5.jpg" alt="media kit sample" width="1502" height="859" loading="lazy" srcset="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5.jpg 1502w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5-300x172.jpg 300w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5-768x439.jpg 768w, https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/picmonkeysequins5-1024x586.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1502px) 100vw, 1502px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">If you get hung up and aren’t sure what to put in your media kit, simply copy and paste your “about” blurb. Mine isn’t quite the type I’d send to a PR rep or put in a media kit, so I narrowed it waaaay down to just a few sentences.</p>
<p><strong>Don’t forget to include:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>A professional headshot</li>
<li>Social media information</li>
<li>Pageviews, demographics, or other “showcase” items</li>
<li>Brands you’ve worked with</li>
<li>Your header or other branding</li>
</ol>

<p style="text-align: center;">Hey y’all !!! A big topic in the blogging world right now is Media Kit’s. When I 1st started blogging I had no idea what that was and definitely didn’t think I needed or wanted one.</p>
<p><span id="more-1070"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I currently only use my media kit for product reviews. I love new things I’ve never tried and its fun for me. So far I have reviewed beauty products, jewelry, party in a box, candles, and even a awesome dreamcatcher.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">What I found that personally works for me:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• Always give them a date that you will have the post up by and don’t let them down.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• I always give my partners tons of social media shares along with my review.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• Just like bloggers time is valuable so are these companies and small shops that partner with us. The collaboration has to benefit both parties.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• I never pitch to anyone to review something if I don’t truly think I would love it and would recommend it.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• Take time and do research and don’t treat the companies all the same and all with a generic letter.</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/wpid-untitled-2.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full aligncenter" title="Untitled-2.jpg" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/wpid-untitled-2.jpg" alt="image" loading="lazy"></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Think of it as your blog resume. Putting time and thought into your media kit is important.</p>
<p><a href="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/wpid-need-one.jpg.jpeg"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full aligncenter" title="need one.jpg" src="https://sequinsinthesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/wpid-need-one.jpg.jpeg" alt="image" loading="lazy"></a></p>
<p> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">If you want to review products, work with brands or have ads. Your media kit will explain &amp; showcase your blog and save time on back and forth communication.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>Few things to remember:</strong></em></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• One page in my opinion is sufficient the companies / people we pitch to are busy and need to take one look &amp; be impressed.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• Always include social media links. That does not mean you always have to include # of followers especially for newer blogs may be best to leave it out. (At least until it’s asked for).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">• Always save and send your media kit in a PDF file.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">I hope y’all get a lot of use out of this !! Please ask any questions you may have if I can answer them I definitely will !!</p>
