I absolutely love how easy this Classic Strawberry Margarita comes together–and how yummy it is. If you’re looking for a fun cocktail that’s a little sweet and full of freshness, this is your drink!
Summer has so many great things about it. The pool. The sun. The heat–er…nope.
But even with the heat, I love relaxing out in the yard, watching the kids play (or while they’re at grandma’s) with a sweet frozen strawberry margarita in hand.
And, because it’s so easy to make, I can literally be relaxing-ready in just a few minutes!
What You Need to Make this Frozen Strawberry Margarita
I basically came up with this recipe after making a strawberry smoothie for my kiddos. The smoothie was so good, but I wanted to make this a “mommy drink”.
So, I just incorporated the elements I liked in their smoothie into my classic strawberry margarita.
Simple enough.
Here’s what I used:
- 1 shot Tequila
- 1/2 shot Triple Sec
- ¼ cup lime juice
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- Corn syrup for rimming
How to Make this Frozen Strawberry Margarita
Step 1
Combine fresh strawberries, lime juice and frozen strawberries. The reason for the frozen strawberries is for the ice–helps make it creamy, too. And the fresh strawberries? Juice and flavor. So much flavor.
Step 2
Add triple sec and tequila. I personally have no preference for alcohol brands. I mean, I can taste the difference between different wines, but when you put lime and ice in with some strawberries and tequila–I really don’t know that I can taste the different tequila flavors.
Step 3
Blend. Now, this sounds simple enough, but you want to blend really well. I used my trusty immersion blender.
Cheap little workhorse makes perfectly crushed ice for margaritas every time.
Step 4
Rim glass with CORN SYRUP. You’ll notice that the ingredients for this classic strawberry margarita didn’t call for sugar. This is why.
If you rim the glass with corn syrup, you have no need to add additional sugar into the drink itself–the corn syrup is more than enough sweet.
Step 5
Pour blended mixture into glass.
Step 6
Garnish with a slice of lime. Then, kick your feet back and enjoy!
