Okay yall Halloween is one week and 2 days away !! Yay !!! I think i have my daughters costume bought (gypsy). But nothing for my son last minute queen right here !!
So I started thinking i cant be the only one that has waitied until now to whip something up. So heres a little help if your in my boat. I made this 2 years ago.
NO SEW SUSHI ROLL COSTUME.
What you need:
●Low heat glue gun.
●White packing peanuts.
●Dollar store sponges.
●Black duct tape.
●Cardboard.
●Styrofoam.
Optional Items:
-Chopsticks.
-Take out box.
-Letters cut from cameo to spell sushi.
-The soy sauce hat i made out of felt with fabric glue. The graphic i made out of an iron on transfer.
I will now explain exactly how i did it and feel free to ask any questions I will be fast in replying due to pressing time.
I cut two large circles out of cardboard. And cut two shoulder straps to connect the two circles left the head hole big enough so it could be slipped on and would also stay put.
I then used black duct tape and covered every inch of it to make it stronger and to get the background color i needed.
The sponges i got from the dollar store were smaller but colored perfect for the salmon, and avacado middle i needed so i hot glued 3 together to get the shape and size i wanted. The white (cream chesse) is a piece of Styrofoam from Target.
So then i got my middle of the sushi roll placed on the cardboard with my glue gun so i could then place rice all around the roll (packing peanuts) it was so easy yall… my store only had the S shape peanuts not the actual rice looking shape so i simply broke them into and placed them like rice around all areas that were left using a low heat glue gun and it worked perfect.
I wrapped the back in a green tissue paper that was the “seaweed” wrap. Again i used my low heat glue gun for this as well.
Thats for real all it took yall and people fell in love it well the people that knew what it was. I live in a backwoods small town and the 1st sushi place is 45 min away. Thats why i learned how to make it at home ♡
I glued chopsticks to her little hat but in my opinion it would be just as cute with no hat and chopsticks in their hair.
Please feel free to ask any questions i would love to help !
Happy Halloween!

Such a cute costume! When I was in high school I made a costume for my sister of a pastry–it was so much fun to make. When my daughter is a little older I hope to try to make a cute costume for her.
