Hey yall a few months ago when i 1st started blogging i posted about essential oils. I took the leap and bought me a few. I have been so pleasantly surprised how much i love them.
So i wanted to update yall on my experience and show you how i use oils daily without breaking the bank.
Now i know there is tons of people that will definitely disagree with me cause people really have trust in the popular brands such as DoTerra and Young Living.
And i don’t disagree at all i totally think those people are right and know what they are talking about. But at this time in my life i have to budget everything. I envy you if you don’t ♡
So i did a litttle digging and searching for cheaper oils and bought me a few. I wouldnt know if i liked them until i tried even though they all had amazing reviews I’m a hands on person i have to test for myself.
So the oils i have been buying and using i got all off Ebay or Etsy.

All of the essential oils i have purchased have not been over $8 a bottle.
Now i know the saying you get what you pay for and mostly it’s true but in this case these have really worked for us and i enjoy them.
And i love them !!! I don’t use any oils for internal use. External use only for me and my kids. I put a few drops of at least one oil in every bath i take and it’s so relaxing. I use lavender for the kid’s pillows for resting.
Studies show that using smell can trigger things in your brain and i definitely believe it !! I am no longer a skeptic at all !!!
What I’ve learned so far:
°•○ I tend to use the ones that smell really good way more. Some are just tonearyhy for me.
°•○ My one and five year old have had zero skin reactions.
°•○ I like to rub them on my neck vs. My face cause some oils are more oily than others.
°•○ I definitely think oils can alter your moods.
When i added oils to my daily life it kinda reminded me to relax and breath a little in this busy life i have !
Next up for me is frankincense i want to make a face lotion with it using coconut oil and vitamin E. I’m so excited i have already bought what i need.
My hands down favorites are:
Lavender
Peppermint
Lemon
Grapefruit
Eculaptus
I didn’t love:
Patchouli
Vetiver

Thanks for sharing your experience with these, I’ve been on the hunt for some real reviews that aren’t just pushing the popular brands. That being said, I am interested in buying a start kit of the Young Living oils once I have the money (I feel you on the budget, uuugh). I’m excited to see how they go!

I love essential oils. I’m a massage therapist so I use them in my practice. I also love using them at home. I’ve used a lot from doTERRA but I use other brands as well. Frankincense is one of my favorites, I also use a lot of citrus in my oil diffuser.

Hi Laci,
Where on Earth did you find essential oils for under $8 a bottle? I live on a tight budget as well due to my disability and my husband having the only income at the time and depend on essential oils for many things. Unfortunately the ONLY thing that has EVER given me relief from my pain is an oil from Young Living called Palo Santo but it’s $43 for 5ml and that is a small bottle! Great post by the way! 😉
We’re so glad you were able to make it over to the #BigTopBlogParty this week! Hope to see you again at the next Party Under the Big Top too!
Wishing you a fabulous week!
Much love,
Lysa xx

I’ve tried a zillion brands and as much as I’m often not into what’s big and popular, Young Living was simply the only oils that worked for me/my family personally. I dragged my feet and tried not to like them! haha From my experience, I do worry about folks getting diluted or cut oils online elsewhere, but I’m a huge proponent of whatever works for each person. I am so happy you are enjoying the wonderful world of essential oils and really glad you linked up at #MeetUpMonday! Happy oiling!

Good to know the cheaper alternatives work for you. A friend gave me some DoTerra and I really like them but the cost can be prohibitive to a lot of people.

Our Walmart has started carrying some oils for $5.97!! I couldn’t believe it. At first they were in the bath oil section then they finally got smart and put them in the vitamin section. They have coconut oil and almond oil displayed with the essential oils. I have used them all an see no difference in them and others I’ve used. Love the price ! Check your Walmart.
