When My Kids Are Sick…

 THE

We live in Georgia and the past few months the weather has been insane !!! 68 one day and snowing and ice at 22 the next. With all that mix and mess my kids have had a runny nose and all the head junk for to long !! But I can normally handle that with breathing treatments and good essential oils. But last week both kids got the stomach virus which I consider to be the worst of the worst !

Jack my two year old is always the worst ! We had to make a trip to the ER for dehydration and the very first thing they brought me was Pedialyte I wasn’t surprised I ALWAYS use it !! But the doctor having it at hand in the ER was a huge plus. It was late and even though my Walmart is open 24 hours I didn’t want to get him out. But of course the next day I made a special trip to stock up.

sick

Having sick kids is tuff especially if you have a full time job, two kids, homework, and a “real” life and most of the time we need some help my go to is and always will be Pedialyte it gives my kids back the real deal…. You know that stored up crazy hyper real kid feeling.

I’m wondering if there are any moms out there that has never tried Pedialyte ? It’s cheap and easy to find at Walmart and oh so worth every drop !

GET THE FACTS:

Pedialyte is the #1 pediatrician-recommended oral electrolyte solution.

We can lose vital fluids when we’re sick, but Pedialyte helps prevent mild to moderate dehydration.

Pedialyte is available in liquid, powder packs and freezer pops, making it easy to rehydrate at home or on the go.

Popular household beverages like sports drinks, juice, and soda don’t meet the medical guidelines for helping to prevent dehydration due to diarrhea and vomiting. These drinks are too high in sugar and too low in sodium, which is an important electrolyte lost due to diarrhea and vomiting.

Pedialyte comes in many flavors for children and adults and in different forms and sizes to suit their needs.

In the UK we don’t have any of this. We can get something called Diaoralyte from the Doctor but it can’t be bought outright in our shops or pharmacies. It’s a satchet of powder we add to water and tastes mildly of blackcurrant. I wish we sold things like this as it would save wasting a Doctors time when kids get tummy bugs x

I’m not a mom but being sick is no fun and I’m sure watching your little one sick is horrible especially if in the hospital.
I do have to laugh because I’m in Texas and we have 2 seasons in one day it will be 40 in the morning 80 by 1pm .

I’m sorry your babies are continually sick. Down here in Florida, it’s slightly better, but this wacky weather is doing a number on my household as well. Hang in there! It’ll be straight 80-90s soon enough!

All I can think of when I see Pedialyte is that scene from How to be Single where she drinks it to cure a hangover… maybe that’s what I need since I don’t have kids! haha

When my four month old was in the ER with pneumonia and a double ear infection, Pedialyte is the first thing they gave her! She had only eaten an ounce here and there for about 10 hours. She chugged it right down and it immediately had her acting more alert. It was so scary! Now we keep it on hand any time she is sick.

We always keep some in our house for those sudden sicknesses! It always seems to help him feel better. We’ve even used it for ourselves when needed (great for hangovers).

I’ve definitely seen the magic that is pedialyte when babysitting a super sick kid. She hated the taste, which I thought was odd, but I definitely noticed that it worked. I didn’t know they had it for adults, I may need to stock up for myself!!

I’m not fond of that kind of sick. It’s one of my fears. People throwing up makes me run for the hills. It’s very important to keep hydrated when it does happen though.

I love Pedialyte too. When my son had serious bowel movements and I was worried he would be dehydrated, that’s what we had him drink. Thankfully, he doesn’t hate the taste of it.

It’s crazy when our kids are sick. It’s better if it were us, right? It’s like double the worry and the panic. I am so thankful there are plenty of ways to make them feel better. Pedialyte is a regular in our household too when the kids are sick.

I consider a small family, but my husband is one of 7 children so I get that big family feel when we have family gatherings on his side. I must like it because we are on baby #6 (and possibly we are the reason that the average here in the US is 2 rather than 1 like in Canada and most of Europe according to your chart!)
