Having trouble planning your wedding? Looking for something a little different? Well, I’ve got some suggestions for you! Peak wedding season falls in the warmer months of the year, but winter weddings can be just as pretty, if not even more uniquely charming. These winter wedding decoration ideas will spark your imagination and open you to the possibilities of having your wedding while it’s cool and frosty outside!
Candles
What could be more lovely than some nice candles dotting the wedding hall? Place them strategically on tables, along the aisles, and around the altar to set an understated, romantic mood. I’ll admit that it can be hard not to put them EVERYWHERE, so remember to use some restraint here.
Hot Beverage Presentation
When it’s cold outside, I always want a nice cup of something hot. You can show your appreciation for you guests by providing them with winter-themed cups that they can fill (and refill) at a hot chocolate bar. Personally, I like to add some cute mini marshmallows to my hot chocolate, so you could provide those in an elegant tin at each table. Even if the adults don’t bite, you can be sure the kids will love this idea!
Winter Plants
This is perfect for putting those finishing touches on the décor. Make that plain guest tabletop or aisle chair more magical with just a few neatly placed evergreen branches and pinecones. They’ll add a pleasant contrast to the whites and grays you might use in the tablecloths and other decorations, and they’ll give off a cozy, rustic feeling.
Textural Warmth
One of the great things about having a winter wedding is that you have the freedom to double up on fabrics and textures to warm up the room. Mix in decorations made of wool or velvet in creative places, such as candleholders—it’ll be like the candles have their own little sweaters! You can also offer knitted blankets as favors or drape them on the backs of chairs so that your guests can stay warm.
Lights
Lights, lights, lights! I mean, just picture the trees all wrapped in sparkles or a snow-covered gazebo outlined with soft glimmers. There really are so many ways to decorate with lights. Whatever you decide to do, lights will make the perfect backdrop for photos, and they’ll bring everyone some wintry wonder.
