I cannot get over how fabulous this S’mores Margarita was. I feel like this is the perfect cocktail for summer evenings around the fire pit. Let’s get our summer on!
If you’re thinking that I’ve lost my mind, hold on. This is more than just some weird new-fangled idea that I saw on Facebook and decided to try.
Nope.
This S’mores Margarita is, genuinely, a drink that has been around for a while–and it’s surprisingly good.
I’m not much of one for chocolate DRINKS, but this frozen S’mores Margarita is definitely up my alley.
What You Need to Make this S’mores Margarita
You don’t get a lot of chances to come up with something wickedly fun for a summer evening sitting around the fire pit.
I mean, it’s a pretty staid thing: you do s’mores.
But when you can turn that around on it’s head and make a fun drink for the adults? Well, there’s your chance.
All it takes is:
- 1 shot Tequila
- 1/2 shot Triple Sec
- ½ cup coconut cream (or regular cream)
- 1 cup chocolate chips, melted
- 2 cups ice
- Crushed graham crackers for rimming
- ½ cup marshmallows for garnish
How to Make a Frozen S’mores Margarita
Step 1
Place coconut cream and ½ cup melted chocolate chips over ice. Now, if you don’t know, you melt chocolate by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl, then microwaving it in 30-second increments, stirring in between increments. Should be pretty easy.
Step 2
Add triple sec and tequila. I personally have no preference for alcohol brands. I mean, I can taste the difference between different wines, but when you put lime and ice in with some salt and tequila–I really don’t know that I can taste the different tequila flavors.
Step 3
Blend. Now, this sounds simple enough, but you want to blend really well. I used my trusty immersion blender. Cheap little workhorse makes perfectly crushed ice for margaritas every time.
Step 4
Rim glass with the remaining melted chocolate. Now, this is going to harden pretty quick, so don’t dilly-dally before doing step 5.
Step 5
Dip rim of glass in crushed graham cracker. Crushing is pretty straight-forward. I just put the graham crackers into a zipper bag and mashed them with a rolling pin. #lazy
Step 6
Pour blended mixture into glass. Sprinkle a few mini marshmallows on to complete the s’mores look.
Now, just kick your feet back and enjoy!
