There’s nothing quite like a deliciously sweet Caramel Apple Margarita. If you love those fall flavors, you can enjoy them even during the hottest months of the year in the form of a frosty beverage!
I love caramel apples. Crisp, fresh apples covered in warm, creamy caramel — What a scrumptious combination!
I also love a good cocktail and margaritas are one of my favorites! So, it’s no surprise that I eventually got around to making a caramel apple margarita.
I also worked these flavors into a cupcake. So if you want the pair a tasty treat with your margarita, make up a batch of these Caramel Apple Cupcakes.
Like all my margarita recipes, this one is pretty simple. The most time-consuming part is making the caramel, but boy is it worth it!
Ready to make your own Caramel Apple Margarita? Let’s get started!
How to Make a Caramel Apple Margarita
Before we get blending, you’ll need to gather up a few ingredients.
Ingredients
For the caramel sauce you’ll need:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup coconut cream
After you’ve made the caramel sauce, you’ll need these ingredients to finish making the margarita:
- 1 shot of tequila
- 1/2 shot of triple sec
- 1/2 cup of apple juice
- 2 cups ice
- Apple slices or chunks (for garnish)
Directions
Now that you’ve gathered up all the ingredients, it’s just a few simple steps.
First, we have to make the caramel sauce. Add the sugar, salt and vanilla extra to a small saucepan.
Set the heat to high and stir vigorously until the mixture is lightly brown. It will be pretty lumpy.
Once your sugar mixture looks like the image above, add the coconut cream to the saucepan and continue to stir. Keep stirring until the sauce is creamy and smooth, then set the sauce aside to cool.
While the caramel sauce is cooling, add your ice to the blender. Then, pour the apple juice over the ice.
Next, add one tablespoon of the caramel sauce. Don’t worry, we’ll be using the rest later.
After you’ve added the caramel sauce, pour in the tequila and triple sec.
Now it’s time to blend.
We’re almost done! Get your glass ready by dipping the rim in the remaining caramel sauce.
Pour the margarita into the glass. It’s ready to drink but if you want to add a little pizzazz, slice up a fresh apple into cubes.
String a few apple chunks onto a toothpick and add it to your glass as a garnish.
If you want, you can drizzle some of the extra sauce over the apple slices if you want.
